Norfield Church Board of Music
The Church's Board of Music seeks to enhance the spiritual life of the church by developing musical programs and ssuring that music is integrated into the religious services of the Church. Under the guidance of Norfield’s Director of Music, David Connell. Norfield has a rich and varied music program. The program includes:
Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir offers anthems in worship each Sunday morning. The choir rehearses on Sundays from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. and after church from 11:15 until noon. All who like to sing are welcome, from age 14 up.
Several times a year, the choir presents special music in worship with instrumental accompaniment, as well as concerts on Sunday afternoons. Some recent highlights have included: Handel’s Messiah (parts 2 and 3), Ramirez Missa Criolla, Haydn Lord Nelson Mass, and Vivaldi’s Gloria.
Memorial Handbell Choir
The Memorial Handbell Choir rehearses on Thursdays at 6:15pm and presents anthems in church about once a month. Workshops and introductory sessions are offered occasionally. Several times a year, the handbell choir plays with the other choirs or instruments, and as an accompaniment to hymns. The Memorial Handbell Choir plays five octaves of Malmark handbells and four octaves of handchimes. We welcome new ringers! The ability to read music is helpful but not required.
