Jazz Sunday

Chris Coogan, composer & pianist

A Weston, CT. native, Chris leads the Chris Coogan Quartet, a jazz ensemble whose repertoire includes straight-ahead jazz, fusion jazz and boogie-woogie. Additionally, he teaches jazz piano and leads gospel workshops throughout the country to help reinvigorate church and community choirs. “I see myself as a catalyst who uses the medium of music to bring people together.”

John Mobilio and Jim Royle are long-standing members of the Chris Coogan Quartet who perform regularly at venues throughout Fairfield County. John Mobilio is a multi-talented musician who, as bassist, educator, musical director and performer brings his joy of jazz and music to audiences and students throughout Connecticut and into New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.  Jim Royle is an accomplished percussionist whose acclaimed drum studio in Fairfield County is known for its Percussion Training and Ensembles, Steel Pan! Their exceptional musical talents are amongst the most revered in the world of jazz which make each event a memorable one!
