The Holy Spirit is truly alive at Norfield, and fills our Sanctuary every Sunday as we join our hearts together in prayer, music, faith and devotion to Jesus Christ.
Laity Sunday
September 6th: Celebrating the Ministry of All God’s People
To celebrate, Norfield Congregational Church joyfully welcomes to the pulpit our Marie Copeland to the Pulpit as its Laity Sunday Guest Preacher, as members of our congregation also take part in leading this meaningful service of worship.
Join us on Sunday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m. for a special Laity Sunday Worship Service as we celebrate the faith, gifts, leadership, and service of the people who make up our Norfield community.
Laity Sunday is a day when we celebrate and recognize the ministry of all lay members (non-clergy) of the church. It reminds us that ministry belongs to all of us, and that each of us is called to use our unique gifts to serve God and one another—in our church, our homes, our workplaces, our neighborhoods, and throughout the wider community.
As we prepare to Gather & Grow in a new church year, Laity Sunday offers a beautiful reminder that the Church is strongest when each of us brings our gifts, our faith, and our hearts to the ministry we share. Come celebrate the ministry of all God’s people!

About Marie Copeland
About Marie CopelandMarie taught mathematics in Michigan for almost 40 years from seventh grade mathematics through BC calculus. She gave workshops across Michigan on good mathematics instruction. She served as Secretary for the Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Marie has a love of music and enjoys all the opportunities we have here at Norfield Church including choir, bells and String-Alongs. Marie lives here in Weston with her husband of 50 years and her son’s family.
