Stewardship
What is Stewardship?
In Old Testament temple worship, God ordained Levites called Doorkeepers. They were responsible for the various entrances to the temple. However, among the Doorkeepers were people gifted in music and song. Their job was to stand outside the main entrance to the temple and sing and play instruments as a giant worship team. To that end, they were commissioned to play and sing songs of praise and thanksgiving.
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
– Proverbs 11:25
Each year our stewardship team reaches out to the Church community to ask for your financial support to continue Norfield's mission. People fulfill their pledges in a number of ways. Pledging supports Norfield's work, our ministries, our ministers, our gathering spaces, and our opportunities to shine for each other and outward from our church doors!
How to Give

Contributions of Securities
Along with donations and pledges given as part of our Pledge Drive, Weekly Offerings and Special Donations, Norfield can also accept gifts of securities.
These gifts can be transferred directly to Norfield's brokerage account, after which it is the policy of the Trustees that as soon as a security is received, it is sold. The donor receives a charitable contribution deduction for the net amount of the sale. To learn more about contributing securities to Norfield, please contact Norfield's Treasurer and let them know you are interested in transferring securities.

Stewardship Snippets
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.” – Matthew 5:14-16
Psalm 100:4 exclaims: “Enter His gates with thanksgiving in your hearts, enter His courts with praise”. The Bible tells us that at one time, there were over 4,000 musicians who served in rotation, providing songs of praise and thanksgiving, from sunrise to sunset. The leader of this worship team was the “Chief Musician.” How blessed is Norfield Congregational Church to have Dr. David H. Connell as our “Chief Musician!”
As the historic Norfield Church bell rings in welcoming congregants to worship, the next notes you will hear are from one of many instruments played so brilliantly by Norfield’s Director of Music and Worship Arts, Dr. David H. Connell. His love for his music is expressed in every chord that is played. This renaissance man also shares his many other talents through sermons, musical programs, gardening, just to name a few! David’s music leadership is a spiritual gift which inspires congregants each week to focus upon the greatness and glory of our Lord.
Did you know that your Stewardship dollars help to fund the music program and its musicians at Norfield? We are forever grateful for your gifts. And THANK YOU for helping to make Norfield Church's several missions possible!
