A Norfield Community Conversation featuring The Fairfield County Trauma Response Team (FCTRT) will take place on Sunday, March 15th immediately following worship service. The mission of FCTRT is to improve mental health trauma services for first responders and provide best practice treatment to those who are victims of disasters. The organization was started by Fairfield County EMDR trauma-trained therapists to provide education to first responders about recognizing symptoms of PTSD and how to seek treatment. EMDR interventions are being used successfully in the field all over the world.
Join us for this informative presentation that shares what our community heroes – police, fire fighters, and EMT responders – experience on a daily basis. FCTRT speakers will include Susan Marcus, LCSW, President, FCTRT; Dr. Karen Alter-Reid, PhD., national EMDR consultant and trainer; and Jane Kistler, LCSW, EMDR clinician and member of our Norfield family. All members of the community are invited to attend, especially current and former first responders. Please feel free to spread the word among family, friends and colleagues.
