“Music on the Road to Freedom” celebrates the African-American Spiritual and its place in the history of the United States. The story of slavery and emancipation, of bringing hope into a desperate situation, intertwines the religious and musical life of our land. Rev. Dr. Bernard R. Wilson, Senior Minister of Norfield Congregational Church, tells the story with an eye to personal experience as well as the broader flow of events. He will be joined by the Norfield Sanctuary Choir and soloists, who will sing the spirituals to bring the talking points to musical life. Join us on Sunday, January 26th at 3pm in the Parish Hall. The presentation is free and open to all. Don’t miss this special celebration of deeply meaningful music and a story that needs to be told.
